Meeting point: Saltwood Village Hall, Rectory Lane, Saltwood nr Hythe CT21 4PZ\nParking: around The Green, Rectory Lane and surrounding roads nb: no toilets at start point.\n\nWalk out of Saltwood through woodland before making the long climb up to Tolsford Hill at 181m above sea level with the iconic 1959 BT Tower and views across to the coast. Drop down towards the village of Postling picking up the North Downs way before crossing flat farmland which can be quite wet from the local streams. Come out on Roman road of Stone Street and into the village of Stanford which was split from next village when the M20 was built. Maybe time for a quick drink in the Drum Inn before passing Westenhanger Castle, Racecourse en route to Brockhill Country Park into Saltwood.\n\nRefreshments: own arrangements at The Castle Hotel on the Green in Saltwood. Recently reopened and no feedback on food yet. Https://thecastlesaltwood.co.uk\nOr the Brockhill Cafe in Brockhill Country Park. Other options in Hythe.\n\nNB: a muddy walk particularly after rain. Gaiters would be useful and advisable and walking poles too.
