From Churchfields Farm we will follow field paths and quiet lanes towards Ladywood. We then cross the railway line and walk in a southerly direction to reach Martin Hussingtree where we will pause for our morning break. We head east, cross the railway again, and follow the banks of the Martin Brook before joining the towpath of the Droitwich canal that leads us back towards Salwarpe. Our picnic lunch will be at Salwarpe church and here we are close to the cars so there is an option cut the walk short and return Churchfields farm where there is a café. Our after lunch walk of 2.5 miles continues through fields and forests and includes some canal walking and a section of the Driotwich Community Woods trail and the Coney Meadow Nature Reserve.
There are 9 stiles, a couple of short but steepish inclines and a flight of about 20 steps. Some paths could be muddy after rain.
Please take due care when crossing the railway line. Care required on short sections of road walking.
Meet for car sharing in the service road opposite Aldi on Chester Road, Castle Bromwich
