Join me on this walk through an oasis of greenery and wildlife in the heart of the West Midlands conurbation. Although never far from the noise of the motorways, the Country Park provides easy walking on mostly well-made paths (though some may be muddy) through woodland, lakes, ponds and grassland. Our walk begins at Sot’s Hole Nature Reserve and leads us through quieter areas of the Park before reaching the Visitor Centre where we will take our morning break and explore the walled garden. We will cross over the M5, then pass through Priory Wood en route to the Priory Ruins and the Sand Well. We will make our way alongside the Hilltop Golf Course to reach the River Tame. Our lunch break will be at the RSPB Visitor Centre, overlooking Forge Mill Lake. We return via Swan Lake and Salters Lane. There is one stile and one gentle incline.
