Come and join me on this slightly different walk in and near Stratford. It features some of Stratford's hidden paths, open countryside with views of the surrounding area, Shottery village with Anne Hathaway's Cottage - Shakespeare did his courting here, the Stratford Canal, restored by prisoners from Winson Green in the 1960s, Bancroft Basin and Gardens in front of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, a former tramway bridge, a walk alongside the River Avon and its swans, and a good view of Holy Trinity Church where Shakespeare is buried.
We will use tarmacced, field and hedge paths (one may be muddy), street pavements and the canal towpath. It is generally level with one incline.
There are toilets at the lunch break, otherwise rural.
There are no stiles.
