Overview

Seaburn to Cleadon Hills returning via the coastal path. Beginning with an inland walk from Seaburn to Whitburn village and from there a very gentle accent up to the summit of the cleadon hills. We then circuit the iconic windmill and the Italian styled pumping Station before heading to the coast for lunch at Marsdon old quarry. Our return from there is along the dramatic cliff tops of the coastal path past souter lighthouse, the lost village and the Army camp and ending with a walk along Seaburn promenade.

Mixture of well defined paths,( asphalt, pavement, gravel, field, heath, Bridle). Generally flat apart from very gentle incline up Cleadon hill and two very short steeper inclines. Some low stiles. Grade: Moderate.

Lunch stop on Marsdon Old Quarry, Hydration stop if requested.
