We head west and north from the Weald Village along tracks to ascend Bayley's Hill, taking in the stunning views of the Weald valley below. Crossing through the Montreal Pine Forest we then return to another panorama overlooking Bough Beech reservoir, Chiddingstone and Hever. Southbound we now pass through Bore Place, a working farm and educational centre, towards Charcott where we stop at the Greyhound for a lunch-break at approximately 1pm. The final stretch is 3 miles northbound through fields and woodlands to return to the Weald where refreshments (and toilets) are to be found at the Windmill pub.
Parking is available on road and at the Memorial village hall car park.
There are a couple of decent hills but mostly the going is flat-ish. There are a few stiles and one moderately sized gate to traverse. Dogs will have to be kept on lead when passing the pheasant breeding sites and if there are sheep in fields.
No toilets are open at the start but are available at the lunch stop and at the Windmill at the end.
Please bring a picnic lunch to eat before entering the pub as there may not be time to order hot food if busy.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending.
