THIS WALK IS PART OF THE SHR TUNBRIDGE WELLS GETAWAY WHICH IS FULLY BOOKED
Starting from our Hotel we meet in reception no later than 9.15 am when we make our way to the bus stop to catch the 291 (Crawley) to The Dorset Arms, Withyham to start our walk. Taking the private drive beside the PH to Buckhurst Park we pass a spring then a series of lakes in Coppice Wood. Following undulating paths , which are muddy in places, until we reach Marden's Hill where we will have a short road walk with no footpaths. Turning off towards Pillow Mounds until we reach Faggot Stack corner where we take a woodland track passing Pimp Barn Cottage before joining the Wealdway to Neaves Farm. A short roadwalk turning off towards Pooh Sticks bridge heading towards Upper Hartfield and beyond to Forest Way, continuing to Hartfield where we end our walk at The Bear Inn. After welcome liquid refreshments we catch the 291 bus back to Tunbridge Wells. This is an undulating walk with good vistas and a chance to emulate Pooh Bear and Piglet and float a Pooh stick under the bridge!
Bring a packed lunch. Please make sure you purchase sandwiches before meeting in reception at 9.15.
Bring bus pass if you have one.
Walk may be muddy, sturdy boots and gaiters are recommended.
