Starting from the Macclesfield Forest visitor centre, we will head past Ridgegate Reservoir before making our way to Wildboarclough via fields and lanes. From there we climb up Shutlingsloe (aka the Cheshire Matterhorn), pass Forest Chapel and come back through the forest. There will be the option to stop at the Leather Smithy for a drink on the way back to the cars.
Parking in the visitor carpark costs £6.60 for all day (RingGo 51726) or there is usually free roadside parking available alongside Ridgegate Reservoir (does fill up quickly). Allow time to get to the visitor centre for a 10am start if parking on the road.
Some paths likely to be very muddy.
As there is likely to be livestock in the fields, only dogs known to the walk leader please.
Please book a place on the walk by contacting the walk leader.
