The walk starts in Singleton and ascends Levin Down to Singleton Forest towards The Marlows, onward to Colworth Down then a steep descent down Hat Hill back to our starting place. There will be open fields walking (with cattle) and also walking through two different areas of forests. The walk is quite strenuous due to lots of ups and downs and some of the paths are stony and uneven. The views are superb, and there is a lot of flora and wildlife, with the occasional helicopter flying overhead from Goodwood.
Picnic Yes
A few parts of the paths are overgrown with nettles & brambles, so it is advisable to wear trousers & long sleeve tops. Walking poles are also advised due to the type of terrain. Hannah's Cafe (with toilet facilities) in Singleton is open from 9.00-15.00 and does a good breakfast if anyone wants to arrive early. There is no village carpark, but side of road parking is available near the village school and elsewhere.
Assistance dogs only.
