Overview

Starting with an ascent of Cissbury Ring we pass the trig point and continue via the east gate, descending to a valley below Lychpole Hill (1.5mi).  Pass through the buildings of Lychpole Farm (3mi) and ascend gradually, cross Sompting-Steyning road. Turn north (4mi), re-crossing the road up to Langmead memorial (5.5mi). Follow a path parallel to South Downs Way, joining it briefly before leaving it to join the Chanctonbury to Cissbury track (7mi).  Descend gradually back to the start point.
