The St Edmund Way is a long distance path across Suffolk, connecting Manningtree to Brandon; we'll gradually walk the whole 80 mile route in a series of walks, exploring some of the surrounding area as we go.
We're aiming to complete the trail without any/much car shuffling, although for this first stage, there isn't an easy public transport option. So we'll meet at Stratford St Mary for a circular walk to Manningtree, and pick up the start of the St Edmund Way, which will take us back to Stratford St Mary.
The walk will pass through lovely countryside in the Dedham Vale, as well as onto the higher ground above the valley, before heading down to the St Edmund Way and River Stour.
Although there are refreshment facilities along the route, they're likely to be busy, so please bring enough food and drink for the day. No toilets at the meet point, but there'll be some at our morning break, and as we pass through Flatford Mill.
Car sharing encouraged.
