Stoke Goldington to Salcey Forest

Wonderful field and forest walk, starting from the picturesque village of Stoke Goldington. We walk along the high street to Dag Lane and then round Stokepark Wood and join Midshires Way past a large solar power farm. We then walk north into the ancient woodland of Stacey Forest. 
 

We will stop for an extended lunch and a toilet break at the café and car park area of the forest. Bring a packed lunch or buy something at the café. We then return via the eastern end of the forest and farm field paths to the church at Stoke Goldington, and then back to High Street. 
 

There are some stiles on the return leg of this route and some roads and streams to cross. Much of it is along bridleways currently churned up by the horses, so come prepared for mud.  Although it is 10 miles, we will take it at a leisurely pace with several stops.
