The walk will start from Alderminister, which is a picturesque village at the gateway to The Cotswolds. It is midway between Stratford-upon-Avon and Shipston-on-Stour.
During the 1870s a local landowner built 24 houses in Alderminster, he also built the school and a schoolhouse and these were in use until 1971. In 1960 the village had grown to about 100 houses, these, together with a garage, post office/store, bakery and The Bell Inn, extended along the main road. Today there are over 240 houses in the village.
It is a linear walk which will take us along the Shakespeare Way through the villages of Preston on Stour, Altherstone on Stour and Clifford Chambers and then into Stratford upon Avon to complete the walk.
