We will walk out from Blanefield on a rising path that allows access to the water pipes from Loch Katrine to Milngavie reservoirs. On a clear day the views are stunning from here with Dumgoyne Hill to the right and views of Ben Lomond and surrounding hills straight ahead. Just before reaching Cantywheery Cottage we descend to the A81 and a short walk back to the Glengoyne Distillery (the Visitor Centre toilets are open to the public, Ramblers welcome!). Now we cross the A81 to pick up our return route on the West Highland Way southbound. On our return to the village we take a footpath behind the main street, passing the allotments and back to the Strathblane Library car park.
The walk is on good paths all along the way, easy walking on the way out and with a few more ups and downs on the return leg but nothing very steep.
