The walk will start at 19.00 but we will look to order food in advance so please aim to arrive for 18.45 if you plan on joining for food. The pub is open to dog walkers and their furry friends.
If you’re interested in joining for food please text me or post a comment in the group. We’re limiting the table to 15 for now but if more are interested we can look to increase this. We'll be making our food orders on the day before heading off on the walk.
Join the CYW for a mid-week summer walk from Oving, a historical village that sits on the Outer Aylesbury Ring. This is a repeat of one of last year’s evening walks.
Starting from the Black Boy Pub which dates back to 1524, we'll head south from the village and descend down Bunshill, before turning left to cross the open fields and a stream on our way to Whitchurch.
In Whitchurch we'll stop to admire the former site of motte-and-bailey Bolbec castle, which was burnt down in the English Civil War.
Finally, we'll head back up the hill towards Oving, picking up the Outer Aylesbury Ring, a route which was established by the local Aylesbury Ramblers.
Once we're back we will enjoy a meal at The Black Boy Inn - this walk is limited to avoid overwhelming the pub.
Parking is available either at the pub, or park considerately on local roads.
Dogs are welcome but should be kept on leads at all times.
Please bring water and dress appropriately for the weather.
There is a small hill in the second half to get back up towards Oving so moderate level of fitness is required.
