From the start we walk along Ridge Hill to Higher Sutton. Here we join the Gritstone Trail which we follow to Croker Hill. Along the trail there are tree lined valleys with streams and on a clear day there are fantastic 360 degree views including Welsh hills, White Peak District, Manchester and beyond. From Croker Hill we descend towards Gawsworth Common. We follow a leat and stream along a beautiful wooded valley before following the towpath of the Macclesfield Canal for a short distance to Sutton Reservoir. We return to the start through woods and fields. Great spring colours along this varied walk.
