Starting with walking through the 'New Lawley Village' housing development, this soon becomes a mainly rural walk in lovely countryside along parts of Telford's many different published waymarked trails through woodland, local nature reserves and across fields with beautiful views and lots of historic interest including an old tramway bridge and an unusual old well. It is an undulating walk with some uphill sections and there is an optional finish at The Grazing Cow afterwards. On your way you will sample parts of the Hutchison Way, The Telford T50 50 Mile Trail and two different Coronation Legacy Walks, so you will gain lots of ideas for some future walking adventures.
This is a special joint walk with Telford & Wrekin Council to support their 'Telford Walk Week', a programme of morning, afternoon and evening walks, which showcases the best local walking places and our specially marked walking trails, many of which highlight wild nature or history and heritage . Non members and members of other Ramblers Groups are especially welcome to come along and join in this walk which is one of our popular regular 'short & social walks' (a 5 mile walk half day walk which ends with an optional drink, snack or meal at a pub or cafe afterwards). Bring a mid morning drink and snack and let the leader know if you want to eat at the pub afterwards as pre booking is needed at this busy pub. Please let the leader know if you are intending to bring your dog. We are a dog friendly group and dogs on leads are welcome with the leader's permission (we ask you to contact the leader first as not all walks are suitable for dogs or all dogs).
