Join us for a walk taking in the Chesterfield canal (Cuckoo Dyke) and the ancient Anston Stones Wood, site of special scientific interest. This limestone woodland is home to a very pretty gorge created in the last glacial period and where we can find Dead Man’s Hole. Excavated in the 1960’s it revealed ancient flint tools and bones from the ice age.
There will be the usual stops for refreshment so don't forget to bring something.
Please register for this walk on Newark Ramblers website where you will also find details of our car share scheme.
