Overview

The walk starts from a car parking area behind the public toilets in Kirkconnel. The circuit of the village begins by heading away from the village up the scenic Baker's Burn before returning to the village by a minor farm road. It then follows the River Nith on the Mavis Bank Walk, before heading up onto the Libry Moor on a  forestry road. There is quite a long incline on this section. We return back to the village on a core path and then follow the "back road" until we reach the Kello Water, which we follow on a grass path, until we reach the River Nith again. We follow the Nith along a riverside path that was constructed by the Kirkconnel Heritage Society until we return back to the village.
