Overview

The first 4 miles of this walk follows the Gritstone Trail east.

A steepish climb from Timbersbrook takes us to the top of The Cloud with wonderful views across Staffordshire & Cheshire. We then descend towards the R Dane where we follow the old railway line into Rushton.

On our return our route undulates across farmland with a short detour to view an ancient burial chamber at Bride Stones.
