A walk covering tors and other features surrounding Halsanger common. It starts at Cold East Cross car park, SX741742. We will visit:
EPB stones
Buckland Beacon and the Ten Commandments stones
Late C19th rifle range
Rushlade bridges
WW2 rifle range
Mountsland Common
Bag Tor
Saddle Tor
Emsworthy loop via the farm remains
Top Tor
Pil Tor
Tunhill rocks
Blackslade Ford
before returning to Cold East Cross.
We will need to cross several small rivers on this walk. The ford near Bag Tor was (just) negotiable on the recce. Good footwear is essential.
