We are the Isle of Wight Ramblers. We arrange walks, monitor paths and help our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a splendid walk with views all around the coast. Those who want to can meet 10.15 at Cliff Road Car Park, Freshwater for a transfer to Turf Walk, Totland Bay where we'll meet walkers arriving by bus. Starting at 10.30am using the coastal path we'll walk over Headon Warren to the gun emplacement, then up to the Battery via the Needles recreation ground. Then over Tennyson Down and return to Freshwater. The cars left in Freshwater car park will then return the drivers to their cars left at Turf Walk.
New walkers welcome. If you are new to the Ramblers you can just turn up for any of our walks, unless we specify otherwise. We invite you to come along for three walks as a non-member.
The drivers of cars who choose to go direct to Turf Walk, will not be prioritised for lifts to collect their cars in Totland.
Additional Notes
Depending on the weather, consider suitable, clothing, footwear, walking poles, sun cream, drinks, and food. Watch out for ticks and remove ASAP. If you are unsure about your ability to undertake this walk, please contact the walks leader. If you need to leave the walking group, please ensure you inform the leader or back marker.

Freshwater Cliffs car park. Cars meet at 10.15 for transfer to Totland. This is up the hill on the Military Road, to the east of Freshwater Bay.
Those arriving by bus, meet at 10.30 - Turf Walk (Cliff Road), Totland.
We return to Freshwater Cliffs car park. Drivers will be returned to vehicles left in Totland.
