Overview

A local walk of 7.25 miles from Taplow village along footpaths through woodland and farmland, eventually descending to follow a short stretch of the Thames Path.  Water flow permitting, there should be plenty of activity on the river on a Sunday morning. Our final ascent back to Taplow will be rewarded with a visit to the Taplow burial mound.  This is the resting place of the Saxon King Tappa (or Tæppa), which dates back to the 7th Century and which gave the village its name.
