Overview

Based on a Chiltern Society Walk.  Head up hill on good track which crosses The Ridgeway.  We join the Icknield Way for a short stretch, returning to the start via Tring Park.  Lovely views.  One long steady 400 foot climb at the beginning, then flat and down hill to the finish.

Lunch will be at The Robin Hood, 1 Brook Street, Tring HP23 6AP (SP924 110) .  This pub has a menu which you can view online.  www.robinhoodtring.co.uk .  It does not have a car park so you have to park in the main car park along the main shopping street - The Forge Car Park at 53 High Street, Tring HP23 5AG.  At time of writing the car park charge is £3 for two hours.

Note this car park is a newish one without its own postcode so is easy to mix up. It is NOT the one outside the museum and is NOT the first one from the museum in Hastoe Lane. If coming from Tring, and starting at the bottom of Hastoe Lane, pass the first car park, go under the bridge for the A41 and the new car park for Tring park users is shortly afterwards on the left.
