Overview

A walk in the varied and lovely scenery around the reservoirs on the edge of Darwen.  From our parking spot at Turton & Entwistle Reservoir, we will head uphill onto part of the Witton Weavers Way, where it is all downhill as far as Turton Tower.  Here we can enjoy a coffee stop at the Turton Tower Woodland Cafe (bring your own or purchase; toilets also available).  From there we will skirt the top of Jumbles Reservoir, before passing through Turton Bottoms and up to the Wayoh Reservoir.  Walking along the side of the reservoir, we will make our way back to our parking spot.

Note, this involves a reasonable amount of hill walking, which should not be a problem for regular hikers.

Park at the lower reservoir car park (free parking).  Signposted Entwistle Reservoir, Batridge Road Car Park from the B6391 (Green Arms Road).  This takes you onto Batridge Road.  If you find yourself on the higher car park, wait & we will pass through there en route shortly after 1 p.m.
