This is a scenic walk along each side of the valley from Rawtenstall to Cowpe. We set off from Marl Pits sports centre with a short road walk before we ascend to Whinberry Naze then make our way along the hill top to Cowpe. We then descent into Waterfoot for some more road walking before a steep climb back out of the valley to enjoy fabulous views (hopefully!) while walking along the hillside before descending and making our way back to Marl Pits.
There are two fairly steep and long ascents. Some of the ground is likely to be wet and muddy. There are a lot of stiles, some in a poor state of repair.
