This is a wonderful scenic walk, easily accessible from the centre of Ullapool. Depending on numbers, we have the option of breakfast in Cult Cafe (tried and tested by the walk leader - it's lovely, with vegan and gluten free options available) before the walk, once we've all met up.
Please note that the only bus we will be able to take back is the 18:30 Citylink service. We may well finish the walk a few hours before 18:30 - for those taking public transport, there is the option to explore Ullapool (and maybe grab a drink or fish and chips as an end-of-walk reward!), but if you'd rather not hang about in Ullapool for that long, it might be worth considering driving. If you are driving, please let me know if you're willing to car-share.
We will walk up the Ullapool Hill Path, taking in some (hopefully, depending on the weather!) spectacular views along Loch Broom. Once at the top, there is the option to detour to another viewpoint at the top of Meall Mòr, a rocky outcrop which requires a short climb. Then we will head further into the hills through open moorland towards Loch Achall and the Ullapool River. After following the river, the path winds through woodland back to the hill at the start of the walk, where we will retrace our steps back to the start.
