Overview

A leisurely walk in South West Edinburgh along Canal Path, Sustran's new Roseburn Path, and Water of Leith Walkway

Starting at the Water of Leith Visitor Centre, in Slateford, we climb steep steps to join the Union Canal and walk towards Fountainbridge to reach Boroughmuir High School, where we break for coffee making use of the plentiful benches here. We leave the canal to join the new Roseburn Active Travel Route, we passing through Dalry Community Park and cross new footbridges to eventually emerge into Roseburn Park. Our return journey passes the Ice Rink and heads along the Water of Leith Walkway to Saughton Park, where we will have a lunch stop and a wander through the gardens. To complete our route, we continue along the Water of Leith Walkway returning to our start point at the Visitor Centre.
