From Matlock the walk starts by going up the Limestone Way and progresses to Wensley through Jughole Woods and by Jughole Cave and Snitterton Hall. From Wensley we go through Clough Wood and Stanton Moor to Stanton in the Peak and on to Bakewell via Shiningbank Quarry to Haddon Hall and the path along the Wye.
This walk has some good views and points of interest but also has some steep and uneven paths which may be challenging in wet weather.
Take the 08.34 X17 bus from the Interchange to Matlock Causeway Rd stop. Meet by the Cafe in the Park. We will return to Sheffield on the 218 bus.
The outward and return buses have different routes so it is not possible to leave a car along the way. It may possible to park in Bakewell and take the 6.1 bus to Matlock. Please check timings carefully if you plan to do this.
