We are the West Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Starting from the recreation ground car park at Vernham Dean, we walk through the village before taking field paths to Thornycombe Wood, Forty Acre Wood, and Well Bottom where there is one short but steep climb, which can be muddy and slippery. We then cross Cow Down and Rushmore Down before skirting round Upton from where the route climbs gently to join the Test Way to Netherton. We return via tracks and field paths passing through the villages of Linkenholt and Vernham Street.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day and ensure you have adequate wet weather gear in case of rain.
