Overview

Preregistration preferred **

Moderately paced 8 mile walk over undulating terrain. Walking through hidden valleys, ancient woods and quaint old farms. Fine views of Bewl Water Reservoir.

Note from 9 March recce: Muddy in places - walking poles recommended. 

Route: Sussex Border path to Cousley Wood, drop down to Bewl Water Reservoir and walk along its edge, up to the hilltop village of Wadhurst, then return to Wadhurst station.

Drop out point: after 6 miles for 254 bus from Wadhurst village to Wadhurst/Tunbridge Wells station.

Lunch: Picnic lunch, possibility of tea at Wadhurst Village.

Meet at Wadhurst Station at 11.15.

Travel: Charing Cross 09.59/Waterloo East 10.02/London Bridge 10.08 - arr Wadhurst 11.13. Check trains day before.

Ticket/Fare: Day Return to Wadhurst £22.90/Railcard £15.10/SRC+FP £10.85.

Finish: Wadhurst station at around 16.15.
