Overview

A moderate to brisk paced 23.4km/14 mile walk - out of the historic riverside town, over gentle rolling grassy hills and through Chiltern woods. About 6 hours actual walking. 

Route: out of town along the Thames and the A4130, Oxon Way up The Mount and past Henley Park house, then down into Middle Assendon, footpaths north past Paradise Wood and Coxlease Farm and down through Almshill Wood into Stonor, back out up along Chiltern Way through Park Wood to Lodge Farm and through Warburg Nature Reserve and Soundess Wood into Nettlebed (lunch at The White Hart), back out the same way then with Chiltern Way through Crocker End and Wellgrove Wood to Bix Bottom, past Valley End Farm and through Bushy Copse and Bix, past Bix Manor Farm and through Lambridge and Badgemore Park Golf Club into Henley.

Lunch: Pub lunch at the White Hart in Nettlebed - or bring own food. 

Meet​​​​ at Henley Station at 10.30.

Travel: Paddington 09.38/Slough 09.54 - GWR Didcot Parkway trainchanging at Twyford (arr 10.08) to 10.15 Henley train arr 10.27. (Or 09.13 Elizabeth line from Paddington to Twyford)

Ticket/Fare: Buy Off-peak Day Return to Henley-on-Thames. 

Finish: Henley Station - likely return trains at 17.07, 17.37 or 18.07.
