A beautiful walk with stunning views that includes villages, open fields, woodland and downland. Some hills and the descent on chalk may be slippery (depending on weather): please bring poles if you use them.
Route: From Cocking Hilltop Car Park - Manorfarm Down - Heyshott Down - Burntoak Gate - Levin Down - Singleton - Colworthy Down - Staple Ash Farm - Yew Tree Cottage - Monkton Copse - South Downs Way - Didling Hill - Cocking Down.
There will be coffee and lunch stops - please bring your own refreshments.
NOTE THE START TIME: 09.30
There are 2 stiles. Ground underfoot includes chalk and flint: please ensure you have sturdy walking boots with good grip. Downland stretches are exposed so please ensure you have suitable clothing/headgear.
Following A246 north from Singleton to Midhurst, the CP is located on the left hand side of the road, immediately before the junction of Hillbarn Lane/Middlefield Lane with A246.
