Shops and pub in Pulborough. Pub at Stopham Bridge and tea room at nearby garden centre

Walk now starts from the free car park in Amberley village. This is a bigger car park than the station car park and using this removes the need for people travelling by car to walk along the B2139.

There is a car park at Amberley station and the adjoining larger museum car park now charges for parking. It is approximately 0.88 of a mile or about 20 minutes walk from the station to the village car park along the pavement beside the B2139.

There is a through train from Portsmouth which leaves Fratton at 0756. Havant at 0805 and Chichester at 0819 which arrives at Amberley at 0858. This train waits for another portion at Barnham.

There is a later train from Southampton which calls at Havant at 0810 and Chichester at 0824  and passengers can catch this train and change trains at Barnham. Please check train times and remember to travel in the front 4 coaches of the train from Barnham.

Some of the paths after lunch are in varying degrees overgrown, so some leg protection might be worthwhile. However the path across the Wildbrooks is drier than normal but grass/reeds are taller. Hiking poles might be useful on this section.
