The walk is around 9 1/2 miles from the visitor center at Tittesworth Water in the valley below the Roaches. The walk heads out North of the reservoir across farm land to start with. There will then be a steady climb, around 1 1/2 miles up to the Trig point at Gun on the ridge which is on Moor Land, this will be the majority of the elevation on the walk. Then along the ridge for a while with good views all around, including back across to the Roaches. It will then follow paths and lanes down to the other end of the Reservoir. Across the dam and then through the woodland next to the reservoir back to the Visitor Centre.
There are quite a few stiles in the early part of the walk but these ease of in the second half of the walk.
There are toilets, cafe and shop at the visitor centre.
Unfortunately it is £7 to park for the day.
