We are the Huntingdonshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We meet at Waresley Wood car park for a figure of eight walk via Waresley, the Gransdens and taking in the Mill (a 'post mill', where the whole building, standing on a thick post, is turned to face the wind).
Important note - please car share wherever possible as there is limited car parking at Waresley Wood
We start our walks at 10.00am unless stated. Please arrive 15 minutes beforehand if you can. The duration of a walk includes time for drink and lunch breaks. Please ensure that you bring sufficient water, drinks and food (picnic lunch) to sustain you during the walks. Walk leaders will explain stops for drinks and lunch at the start of a walk.
Do consider the length of a walk, the weather and likely ground conditions to ensure you are fit enough and have appropriate footwear and clothing. If in doubt, contact the walk leader for advice.
Leaders make every effort to ensure your safety, but we expect members and guests to take care to minimise the risk of accidents.
All “Registered Assistance Dogs” are welcome on the walks with their owner. Please contact the walk leader.
Park considerately wherever a walk starts from. We sometimes have large numbers attending walks, so it is important not to cause congestion for residents. Please car share as much as possible – Use the WhatsApp group to arrange sharing. Only use public house or private car parks where the leader has arranged for this or where you intend to patronise an establishment after the walk.
Meet at Waresley Wood car park - arriving in Waresley with the church on your right take the left turning just after the pub on your left. There will be a small road sign for Gransden Road on the corner of Vicarage Road....continue for about a mile on Gransden Road and you will find the sign for the car park on your right
