Parking is free.
There are public toilets on Brewery Lane which is just off the car park.  There are also toilets where we will have our lunch stop in Amble.co
The walk is 5.8 miles
The walk will end at 2.30pm

There are no stiles to navigate on the route but there is a short bank at the start as we climb from the river path to the castle and also a few steps.  There's another 2 short inclines during the walk.
The walk is mostly on well marked tracks and paths but if there has been wet weather there may be a little mud in a couple of places.
At the end of the walk there are a couple of pubs and 2 cafes for those wanting to stop for refreshments.

This is a moderate walk that will take us along the river path slightly ascending to the side of the castle. We will then proceed to walk part of the St Oswald's Way which is mostly a well laid path through fields.  Leaving this trail we will head towards Amble passing a couple of small housing estates and Amble cemetery. Walking through streets in Amble we head to the harbour front which will take us to Amble Town Square/Memorial Gardens where we will stop for our lunch.  There is adequate seating here for us all to sit.

After our break we will head back to Warkworth,  through the boat yards and along the coastal route.  As we approach Warkworth we can take in the best view of the  Castle.  Arriving at Warkworth we will take the route down to the river using the Butts (an interesting little side lane) via some narrow steps. We will then follow the river path back to the car park.
