Overview

We are starting at 11.00. The walk is flat, very flat, on a landscape very different from North Dorset with wet woodlands and contorted willows. It is going to be wet and muddy on occasions.

Lunch is your choice. Bring your own or treat yourself at the Avalon Marsh Centre outdoor cafe with hot food available.

After lunch we detour on our way back to our cars to visit the bronze age "Sweets Track" reconstruction.

Back at the car park we put on extra layers while we await the evening Starling murmuration, it can get very cold just waiting around. The walk leader makes no guarantees on how impressive this will be on the day.........

We have requested the Starlings come in earlier but they cant seem to agree so you will be driving home in the dark. If anyone would rather a lift than to drive themself let me know and we will see what is possible. If the murmuration is close the day will be something you will talk about for ages.

For those who wish a shorter walk a simple 4 mile route to lunch and back is possible.
