THE GREAT NORTHERN DERBYSHIRE EXTENSION - NOTTINGHAM TO DERBY
The walk will be in four stages following the route of the old Great Northern Railway from Nottingham Victoria to Derby Friagate stations
Stage 1 will start at Nottingham Weekday Cross (outside the Nottingham Contemporary) and will finish on Gedling Country Park
Today's route is via the Sneinton Greenway, Colwick Woods/Daleside Road, Great Northern Way, Gedling County Park

WALK GRADINGS
(A) Strenuous 10+ miles. Could include hills and hard terrain
Pace capable of walking 2.5-3.5 miles per hour depending on weather conditions and different surfaces
(B) Moderate 8+ miles. For people with reasonable level of fitness could include hills and uneven surfaces
Pace capable of walking at 2-3 miles per hour
(C) Easy 6+ miles. For reasonably fit people with a little walking experience
Recommended group for new walkers to try
Pace capable of walking 2-2.5 miles per hour
