We are the Northallerton Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A scenic route from Swinithwaite towards West Burton with great views (weather permitting). There are some hills, all before lunch! The route is either field paths or good tracks. The walk starts at Berry’s Café, Swinithwaite. There is a steady climb as we head towards West Witton. We then follow the contour along the hillside, followed by a short climb and we find ourselves looking down on West Burton. From there we head back on the lower route passing the remains of the Knights Templars Preceptory.
Total ascent 860ft. About half a dozen stiles.
