Walking in the countryside around Northallerton
Our friendly and active group walks on a Thursday and offers a choice of two or three walks each week. We have a varied choice of walks every week celebrating the beautiful countryside in North Yorkshire and County Durham. Our membership is substantial and growing and comes from across many parts of North Yorkshire, Darlington and Teesside.
We aim to enable walkers of all abilities to participate. We usually offer a shorter walk of around 6 miles, with two other longer walks, typically around 9-10 miles, but up to 12 miles, and may be in the Dales, on the moors or on the coast. We celebrate the end of a walk with tea and cakes at one of the many excellent cafes. Guest walkers are always welcome, so please do feel free to join us on a walk before making up your mind about joining Northallerton Ramblers.
Visit our website to see details of our upcoming walks and for contact details. We use a booking system and to join a walk you must pre-book. Please see details on the home page of our website. Our membership secretary will be pleased to book you on your first walk with us. Walks are usually limited to 20 which makes them safer, more enjoyable and more sociable.
We enjoy social time together with meals and other events locally and a range of group holidays each year to enable us to walk further afield; past examples are the Yorkshire Wolds Way, The Roaches, the Lake District, the Ridgeway and Offa’s Dyke.
