A linear walk from West Kilbride to Largs via Glentane Hill and Kaim Hill.
The earlier part of the walk over these two hills provides excellent views over the Firth of Clyde where the islands of Bute, Great Cumbrae and Little Cumbrae can be seen in the near distance. Further out, and given good weather visibility, the island of Arran may also be seen.
The later part of the walk is on good forest track down Fairlie Glen and then on good grass track from Fairlie Castle to Kelburn Estate. After crossing the A78 to Largs Yacht Haven the route then follows the promenade all the way to Largs.
It is planned to have fish and chips in Largs prior to returning home.
The section over the two hills can be wet and boggy in places. Poles and gaiters are recommended and waterproof boots are essential.
