A moderate, undulating, circular walk. From the station we follow a path that gives a good view of the ancient Westhumble Chapel ruin before making our way to the top of Chapel Hill to admire the view over Westhumble. We go west along the escarpment for a short time before descending through woodland and then along a ridge with views over Bagden Farm and The Terrace before reaching Polesden Lacey for an early lunch (café/picnic). Bring NT card if you want a quick peek at the house or gardens. After lunch we soon go south on a track with views over the surrounding countryside, before turning southeast and entering woodland to reach Ranmore Road. Our route continues across Ranmore Common with panoramic views over Dorking. The final section gives wide ranging views over Denbies Vineyard, before entering woodland and joining a short stretch of the North Downs Way on the way back to Westhumble. Terrain: undulating grassy paths, rough tracks with flint and chalk and woodland. Estimated finish: 3:45pm
