Meeting time & place: 10.30 at Manchester Piccadilly station to catch the 10.47 to Whaley Bridge. The leader will join the group at Whaley Bridge station.
Start time & place: after the arrival of the train from Manchester at Whaley Bridge, due 11.29.
Estimated finish time: about 14.30 in time to catch the return train to Manchester due at 15.13. There is a 2 hour gap between trains on Sundays at the moment.

Distance – 6 miles
Train ticket - Off peak return to Whaley Bridge. If you have a TfGM concessionary pass you will only need a return ticket from Middlewood to Whaley Bridge.
Note: walkers are advised to check one of the rail websites such as nationalrail or trainline close to the departure time in case of late changes to the running of the train.
Car Use / Parking - Available on the main road in Whaley Bridge and at a car park just off it.
Walk Route - Whaley Bridge station, Toddbrook Reservoir, Walker Brow, Taxal Edge, Overton Hall Farm, River Goyt, Shallcross Wood, Horwich End, Whaley Bridge station.
Walking boots or shoes and clothes (waterproof jacket in wet weather conditions) are essential.
Please bring lunch and non alcoholic drinks.
