A moderate 7.5 mile walk from Whaley Bridge Station Car Park. The start time is 10.30 am. Although this is a pay and display car park, free parking is available on the main road nearby or in the Canal Basin car park opposite. The walk is a circuit of Whaley Bridge going past Toddbrook Reservoir, Memorial Park, Shallcross Incline, Cadster House, the Roosdyke valley, then the Navigation Inn at Buxworth and canal towpath where there are toilets. Then we cross the A6, to go to Stoneheads above Whaley Bridge then back to the station past Brookfield Pond Nature Reserve. There are 3 gentle climbs and several stiles. The distance is 7.5 miles and the grade is moderate. The ascent is 1089 feet.
