A pleasant evening walk around the Wheldrake area taking in woodland, farm tracks and the village itself.
We leave the village by walking towards York on the main road, sticking to the verge of the road. This is a relatively quiet road but it has the national speed limit and we will encounter traffic, so please be mindful of this, particularly if you want to bring a dog.
Once off the main road we walk along farmland, through the golf course and into the lovely Wheldrake Wood.
🅿️ On-street parking on Broad Highway, Wheldrake, YO19 6BU, at the side of the school
🐶 Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times – please note that part of the walk is on a fairly fast country lane
🍺 After the walk, you can join us in the village pub for a drink
🥾 Most of the walk is along decent paths and roads, but it may be muddy if it has rained
Midlife Hikers is part of the Ramblers and our walks are led by volunteers. Non-members are welcome to try us out for free for up to 3 walks but then we ask you to join the Ramblers
