Circular route setting off from Balloch station. The walk is undulating with some steep climbs and combines parkland, woodland, water and meadow with good views along the length of Loch Lomond. If we have time we'll pop into the walled garden in Balloch Country Park near the end of the walk.
As places will be limited, you must contact the leader in advance if you would like to join the walk.
Paths are generally very good but there are some muddy, narrow sections particularly along the side of the burn and there are a good few steep climbs. Total ascent 928ft. Good general level of fitness needed.
The group will catch the 9.45am train from Glasgow Central Station. Walkers catching the train should meet on Central Concourse, outside M&S, at 9.30am having bought a return ticket for Balloch. The leader - Yvonne - will get on the train at Partick (9.51am).
The walk will start from outside Balloch station after the train arrives at 10.32am.
Trains back from Balloch are every half hour (15.11, 15.38, 16.11, 16.38 etc).
Toilets available at Balloch Castle early on in the walk and there is good cover along the route after that.
