A walk to Queenzieburn village, childhood home of Janette Tough (aka Wee Jimmy Krankie). From the edge of Kilsyth, we will start along a short section of an old mineral railway line (known as Neilston Walk), then follow minor roads uphill and across to the west. If the weather is fine, we will detour to the lovely Stoneree Glen for elevenses. After the road heads downhill, we will turn east again along a historic path, Joe Moses Road, then another path to the edge of Queenzieburn, where a further path is followed back to the starting point.
There are toilets at Buchanan Bus Station. There are no toilets at the start of the walk, or anywhere on the route of the walk (but there are bushes to hide behind!).
If you wish to come on the walk you must contact the Leader in advance by email or phone call, but not more than two weeks in advance. Also, please provide the Leader with a mobile phone number in case arrangements change.
