This year's Mental Health Awareness week has the theme of "Movement: Moving more for your mental health". As we know that improving, or maintaining our mental health, is a key benefit of walking and a common reason why people walk with the Chiltern Young Walkers, we wanted to recognise this week with a series of evening walks from Monday the 13th to Friday the 17th May.
This will be just like any other walk we do, but we hope that by recognising MH Awareness Week with these extra walks we can help to break down any taboos around mental health and raise awareness of the benefits of walking - alone or with a group! So please do come along on one or more of these walks.
This walk will start from Whiteleaf Cross car park, from here we will make our way through woodlands and open fields enjoying views while making our way downhill past the Plough At Cadsden before making our way back uphill in time to catch the sunset from the beautiful view from Whiteleaf hill.
After enjoying the sunset there will be an option to go for a quick drink after the walk for those who want to.
Please wear walking boots or good quality trainers (no plimsolls, please), dress for the weather and bring water with you.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.
