Overview

A moderate walk of around 7.5 miles starting at the Bell Inn on Whittington Main Street. The route goes along the Coventry Canal, through the firing range and onto Hopwas Hays Lane, where it continues, crossing the A51, onto Knox's Grave Lane. The route then turns right onto the Heart of England Way following a good path to Freeford Home Farm. Here the route goes right and follows the public footpath across the golf course and onto Sandy Lane and back onto Main Street. There is a mixture of good paths on fields and lanes and one stile.
